HARRISBURG - Mayor-elect Eric Papenfuse announced today that he will introduce leaders of his Transition Team at a press conference at noon Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, in the auditorium of Harrisburg University.

Transition team co-chairs are Karl Singleton and Joyce M. Davis. Robert Melville, who has more than 37 years of experience as a professional adviser and project manager for governments, will serve as consultant to the transition team. Melville has served as consultant for transition teams of many newly elected officials, including Colorado Gov. Roy Romer, Missouri Gov. Mel Carnahan, and Denver Mayor Frederico Pena.

Transition Team committees and their chairs include:

Public Safety: Susquehanna Police Chief Robert Martin and Harrisburg Police Chief Thomas Carter.

Economic and Community Development: Brian Hudson, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency; and Community Action Commission Executive Director Kathy Possinger

Administration: Harrisburg COO Robert Philbin and City Councilwoman Susan Brown Wilson.

Public Works: City Councilman Bruce Weber and Engineer Marc Kurowski.

Education and Youth: Education Consultant Karl Singleton and Bethel AME Pastor Rev. Micah Sims.

Communications: Communications Consultant Joyce M. Davis and City Councilman-elect Ben Allatt.

Arts, Culture and Tourism: Lenwood Sloan, former Director of Cultural and Heritage Tourism for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and Anne Alsedek, Education Director, Open Stage.

"Our Transition Team leaders represent some of the most capable professionals in our region," Papenfuse said. "I am honored to have them serving the people of Harrisburg and helping ensure our smooth transition into City Hall."

Papenfuse said the Transition Team leaders will begin reaching out to other community leaders for the important work of preparing for Harrisburg's next phase of economic recovery.

"These leaders are committed to my vision of reviving our economy, attracting business and investment and creating jobs for the people or our capital city."
