Type of Incident: Missing Person.

. Date / Time: 02-26-2013, at about 0140 hrs.

. Location: 700 block of N. Front St.

. Investigating Officer: Detective Division.

. Person R/S/A: Franklin McDonald, black male, 65, suburban Harrisburg 5’7”, thin, about 140 lbs. graying beard. Last seen wearing a green army style jacket. Wears glasses.

. Charges: Pending

. Narrative: On 02-26-2013 at about 0140 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to the area of the YMCA on Front St. on a report that a despondent man might be in the area and thinking about jumping into the river. Franklin McDonald reportedly called his girlfriend of 30 years and told her that he was upset and had thoughts of ending things.

. Officers located McDonald’s car in a parking lot of an office building in the 700 block of N. Front St. The Riverfront Park was searched to the area below the Dock Street Dam with negative results. Later in the day a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter and a small airplane searched the Susquehanna River from north of the Harvey Taylor Bridge to well past the Dock Street Dam with negative results.
