Part 1: On Monday, April 9th, Harrisburg Director of Public Works Ernie Hoch submitted his resignation after almost two years in this position. While he gave his formal letter of resignation to Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson, he also wrote a letter to the citizens of Harrisburg, which he submitted to Today's the Day Harrisburg for public view. He wrote, "I can no longer help bring about positive change under the current administration. I will not just sit by idly if I cannot make a difference.? In his first interview after his resignation and police escort out of his City offices, Ernie Hoch talks to James Roxbury about his departure and his tenure. He discusses not only the message he wrote to Harrisburg, but also, the City's utility funds, regionalism, politics, and the value of city employees.--Tara Leo Auchey
