The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission rn(PUC) scheduled a hearing to receive public comment on a proposedrntime-of-use rate (TOU) by PPL Electric Utilities Inc. Administrative rnLaw Judge David A. Salapa will conduct the hearing on November 5 rnat 6 p.m. at the Commonwealth Keystone Building (located behind rnthe State Museum) 400 North St., Harrisburg. Please use the ForsterrnStreet Entrance. rn rn According to the filing, the proposed TOU program would provide rnoptional pricing for electric service for residential and small rncommercial and industrial customers. Under the plan, customers could rnchoose a billing option that provides different pricing for ?on-peak? andrn ?off-peak? hours. Higher rates would be charged for on-peak rnhours while lower rates would be charged for off-peak hours. rnThe rates would be set on a flat cents per kWh basis and be different for rnsummer and non-summer periods.rn rn Members of the public are welcome to attend the hearings rnand provide comments. Customer testimony will become part of rnthe record on which the PUC will issue its final decision. rn rn Several parties have filed to intervene in the proceeding and will be rnavailable to answer questions and concerns including the Office of rnConsumer Advocate, the Office of Small Business Advocate, Eric Epstein, rnthe Sustainable Energy Fund of Central Eastern Pennsylvania, and the rnPUC?s Office of Trial Staff. rn r
