The City of Harrisburg announces that three finalists have been chosen to auction its collection of artifacts.

Finalists Selected to Market City of Harrisburg Historic Artifact Collection (Harrisburg, PA) -- The City of Harrisburg announced today that three finalists have been selected to appraise, market, and auction the City of Harrisburg Historic Artifact Collection. The three firms selected are: Freeman?s Auction House 1808 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19106 David Weiss Senior Vice President, Fine Arts Guernsey?s 108 East 73rd Street New York, NY 10021 Arlan Ettinger President The Potomack Company 526 North Fayette Street Alexandria, Virginia, 22314 Elizabeth Haynie Wainstein Principal Contact The three finalist firms were selected from nine proposals by a city review committee appointed by City Mayor Linda D. Thompson. The finalists will be contacted and further negotiations discussed before a final firm is selected. ?These are three leading firms selected from the nine excellent proposals the city received,? city spokesperson Robert Philbin said today. The City of Harrisburg Historic Artifact Collection consists of approximately eight thousand artifacts spanning three centuries of American history. The collection has been highly publicized in recent months on National Public Radio, BBC, French and Dutch public television broadcasts around the world and the City?s RFP attracted interested parties from across the country. A final decision on the winning proposal is expected in early February in anticipation of the spring auction season. Robert J.
