As released by the Governor's Press Office.
Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf today sent 17 executive nominations to the Pennsylvania State Senate for consideration. Of the 17 nominations, 12 are being submitted following the governor’s recall of 25 nominations earlier this year and 5 nominations are to fill vacant seats. Following is a statement from Governor Wolf:
“Today, I presented 17 executive nominations to the State Senate for consideration and I look forward to the quick advancement of these qualified candidates.
“Earlier this year, I recalled 25 executive nominations after the previous governor made the nominations on his way out the door.
“Senator Corman and I worked together on a compromise to ensure that we advanced highly qualified candidates to fill these positions. After conversations with Senator Corman, we agreed that 13 nominations recommended by the Senate would proceed and I would submit 12 nominations of my choosing.
“This was a fair process, and I appreciate Senator Corman’s willingness to work together to achieve a compromise.”

Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf today appointed Gladys M. Brown as chair of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC). Brown served as a PUC commissioner prior to her appointment as chair. She replaces Robert F. Powelson of Chester County, who will remain as commissioner.
“I am pleased to appoint Gladys Brown to serve as chair of the Public Utility Commission,” said Governor Wolf. “I look forward to working with Gladys to ensure there is a stable balance between consumers and utilities, as well as utilizing PUC to advance the development of Pennsylvania’s infrastructure to support the natural gas industry.
“I also believe we have a real opportunity to reposition the commonwealth as a leader in developing renewable energy and energy efficiencies,” continued Governor Wolf. “Gladys shares my vision and has the experience to help advance policies to achieve this. I also want to thank Robert Powelson for his service as chair and I will work closely with him in his role as commissioner.”
