As released by the Harrisburg Bureau of Police.
Narrative: 10/18/2014 Harrisburg Police officers were dispatched to the area of South 14th and Swatara Streets for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival officers located the victim, Jerome Buckner, at the said location. Buckner had sustained a gunshot wound(s) and was pronounced deceased by EMS. The investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE: Police investigation led to the discovery of a verbal altercation between the victim and Barker. Barker then brandished a firearm and discharged multiple shots, ultimately striking and killing the victim. Barker was taken into custody at about 0700 hours, and is currently at the Dauphin County Judicial Center awaiting arraignment on his charges.
