Election 2013: Harrisburg Attorney Anne Gingrich Cornick Announces Candidacy for Judge

22 Feb
Friday @ 2:43 pm

As released by Isenhour Rooney Strategies:

Harrisburg (February 22, 2013)—Anne Gingrich Cornick announced today that she will seek to fill the vacancy on the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas as a candidate in the upcoming May, 2013 primary. Gingrich Cornick, 37, has practiced law since 2004. After starting her career here in the public sector, working her way up to Chief Deputy Public Defender for Dauphin County, she has been in private practice since 2007, and now operates her own multi-practice law firm. She is admitted to practice law in state and federal courts and is an active member of the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations.

Gingrich Cornick grew up in Central Pennsylvania and graduated summa cum laude from Boston University. She received her law degree from the University of Texas, where she was both a Texas Law Fellow and a Presidential Scholarship in Law Recipient. She then returned to the area where she and her husband Sean, a police detective for the City of Harrisburg, are raising their daughter.

Prominent Harrisburg attorney Lenora M. Smith, who will serve as Gingrich Cornick’s Campaign Chair said, “Anne knows what it is like to watch her spouse leave their home each day and wait for him to come home safely to their family each night after getting the bad guys off of our streets. She also has extensive experience in the courtroom ensuring that all people, whether facing criminal charges or finding themselves involved in civil litigation, have equal access to our system and are guaranteed fair justice. Anne will bring this unique and balanced perspective to the bench in Dauphin County.”

“Anne’s education, experience and community service are everything one would hope for in a judge. As both an elected official and as a fellow lawyer, I am proud to enthusiastically support her,” said State Senator Rob Teplitz (D-Dauphin) who will serve as Gingrich Cornick’s co-chair.

Anne served in the Peace Corps, serves on the board of Alder Health Services, a non-profit health care provider, and has volunteered with the Committee to End Elder Homelessness. She has also taught at Dickinson School of Law.
