Timeline.

1970 September 12. John Eddie Mitchell found bludgeoned under a 1950's Chevy parked in the garage on Atlas street in Uptown Harrisburg.

1972 February. Steven Crawford arrested.

1974 September. Crawford found guilty, sentenced to life in prison.

1976 October. Pa Supreme Court reverses conviction, re-trial.

1977 February. Crawford retried, found guilty.

1978 February. Crawford's third trial, offered time served he refuses. Convicted a third time.

2000 December. Linda D. Thompson accepts Mayor Steve Reed's backing to run for City Council. "Reed Team Member"

2001 February. Linda D. Thompson files PAC registration at Dauphin County Bureau of Elections.

2001. Linda D. Thompson wins primary race.

2001 October. Children find briefcase containing notes from state police chemist Janet Roadcap, briefcase turned over to DA Ed Marsico.

2001 November. Linda D. Thompson wins City Council seat.

2001 December. Steven Crawford files Post Conviction Relief.

2002 July. Steven Crawford is released from prison.

2003 March. Cawford sues the City of Harrisburg, Dauphin County and the Commonwealth of Pa. Johnnie Cochran Jr. is part of the defense team.

2003 June 10. Harrisburg City Council passes Resolution #84 of 2003.

2005 November. Linda D. Thompson winds second term on Council.

2008 January. Linda D. Thompson voted president of Harrisburg City Council.

2009 May. Linda D. Thompson defeats mayor Steve Reed in primary election.

2009 November. Linda D. Thompson defeats Nevin Mindlin in general election.

2010 January 4. Linda D. Thompson sworn in as Mayor of Harrisburg.
