Dauphin county commissioners voted 2-1 to allow the county to open up bidding for the Area Agency on Aging Kitchen Operation, the agency provides meals for senior citizens through it's Meals On Wheels program. George Hartwick voted against opening the biding procedure.

A projected 300,000 dollar per year savings.

Dauphin county chief clerk Chad Saylor describes the county's email retention policy of 90 days before deletion, Saylor goes on to say the policy has not been enforced and he along with county IT staff will begin a police of strict enforcement of deletion after the 90 day period.

Saylor stated that the county does maintain an archive of emails and the deletion policy will reduce duplication.

The computer and email system county employees use is owned by the taxpayer, not the employee.
