As released by Micah Sims for Congress:

My community comes first!

I entered the race out of love and respect for people and for the democratic process of my community. On last night I made the decision to cease all efforts to secure petitions for 11th Congressional District. Our collective efforts, time, talent and resources were thrown into assisting Dr. Brenda Alton in securing her petitions to get on the ballot and become Pennsylvania's first African American woman lieutenant governor. It was unfortunate to hear the political shenanigans occurring to the Alton campaign and I could not allow it to destroy the opportunity for the people of Pennsylvania to vote for the person who brings balance and creates a winning Democratic ticket in the fall.

My desire to be an agent of change, a political pioneer and way maker for the people is not lost in the ending of our 11th district efforts in 2014. In the next few days I will be launching a new political movement called Legacy Now. Legacy Now will assist in the development and support of political candidates and policies which improve and empower the lives of all people.

"I hope that whomever is chosen by the voters will carry on my commitment to helping the community, to addressing issues of injustice and unfairness, and to representing the needs of all of those in the 11th district, and Pennsylvania as a whole."

I will continue to serve as senior adviser to the Brenda Alton Campaign, and Senior Pastor at Bethel AME Church in Harrisburg, PA. In addition I offer myself to the Dauphin County Democratic Party to assist with candidates, fundraising and policies on local, county, state and federal levels.

"I want to thank everyone for all their support. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be associated with."
