On March 19th, Capital Region Stonewall Democrats held a Candidates Night for Democrats running in the Harrisburg region. Congressional candidates Ken Lee (4th District), Harry Perkinson (4th District), and Gene Stilp (11th District) were up first to answer the group's questions about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) rights. As each took a turn, the candidates vowed to stand against discrimination with Lee stating, "Discrimination is the worst form of anything" and his primary opponent Perkinson responding, "Everybody in this country has to defend their civil liberties," then pledged to fight that battle most especially for the LGBT community. Lastly, Stilp took to the mic and declared the best thing any Democrat can do right now to "advance the rights of everyone," is to rally against Rick Santorum. The event is the political action committee's customary step before it votes to determine its endorsements for the upcoming primary election.--Tara Leo Auchey
